12th August 2025

On the occasion of International Youth Day, August 12, our representative, Yosuke Nagai, was featured on the United Nations Headquarters’ special page titled “Bringing the Global Goals Home: How youth make the SDGs local.”
This special feature introduces young leaders from around the world who put the ideals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into practice at the local level. Nagai is highlighted as a young leader practicing “Peace through Inclusion.”
In the feature, our organization’s work is introduced: supporting young people associated with non-state armed groups (Youth Associated with Non-State Armed Groups: YANSAG), especially in conflict zones such as Somalia, so that they can reintegrate back into society as agents of peace.
Nagai comments:“If those young people, who often are overlooked or seen simply as threats, can become unique agents of peace, then fewer people will resort to violence, and the number of young people who build and sustain society will increase.”
Going forward, our organization will continue its efforts both on the front lines of conflict and at upstream/international levels to help unravel the chains of hatred and violence.
