RPA Model Selected for the First Time from Japan at the 2020 Paris Peace Forum

14th August 2020

On August 4, 2020, our organization’s RPA Model was selected for the first time from Japan at the Paris Peace Forum 2020 (PPF2020) held in Paris, France.

PPF2020 is a global forum led by French President Emmanuel Macron. Over several days, the forum showcases solutions to global challenges, selected from around the world, and gathers the UN Secretary-General, as well as leaders and experts from Western Countries and beyond.

Our organization’s “RPA Model,” established as an approach for surrendering combatants or detainees from so-called extremist organizations, was selected alongside initiatives such as UN Peacekeeping Operations (PKO) and the International Committee of the Red Cross, after a record-high selection process with about nine times the usual competition. In the past, projects from UNESCO, WHO and others have also been selected.

We will continue to focus on a needs-first approach to ensure that our model translates into real-world change on the ground.
