6th March 2021
Our organization received the “King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award”, jointly organized by the King of Bahrain and the United Nations Development Programme.
The award ceremony was held online in December 2020, and the trophy was recently delivered to our office.
The “King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment” is an award established in 2017 during the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum. It recognizes youth leaders and organizations worldwide who are leading activities toward sustainable peace and prosperity.
In 2020, under five themes related to sustainable development, the award received 4,000 applications from 100 countries. Our organization was honored with the Peace Award for our efforts in conflict resolution, particularly in Somalia.
We will continue our support activities to empower local youth to take proactive roles in building peaceful and sustainable societies.
