We are pleased to announce that Accept International has been officially granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Marking the 10th anniversary since our establishment in 2011 as a student NGO, this recognition makes us an official UN NGO with consultative status under ECOSOC.

ECOSOC is one of the UN’s principal organs responsible for addressing issues related to economics, society, human rights and education. In accordance with the UN Charter, it not only consults with Member States but also engages with relevant NGOs on matters within its mandate.

The Special Consultative Status is granted to NGOs with particular expertise in specific fields of activity. After a review process by the ECOSOC Committee on NGOs, composed of 19 Member States, organizations that obtain this status are able to participate in UN conferences and intergovernmental meetings. They are also granted the opportunity to contribute both in writing and orally.

Leveraging this status, we will continue to provide valuable insights and recommendations in the field of conflict resolution and actively contribute to the advancement of peace in the international community.
