{"id":510,"date":"2020-05-11T10:00:19","date_gmt":"2020-05-11T01:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/accept-int.org\/en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=510"},"modified":"2025-09-17T11:12:56","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T02:12:56","slug":"invitation-and-participation-in-the-united-nations-expert-group-meeting-egm","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/accept-int.org\/en\/unhabitat-11\/05\/2020","title":{"rendered":"Invitation and Participation in the United Nations Expert Group Meeting (EGM)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"section-1\">\r\n<div class=\"l-container__narrow\">\r\n\r\n<div class=\"tab\">News<\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"title\">Invitation and Participation in the United Nations Expert Group Meeting (EGM)<\/div>\r\n<div align=right><p>11th May 2020<\/p><\/div>\r\n<p>\r\nOn May 5 and 6, 2020, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) hosted an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on <em>&#8220;Human Rights and Social Inclusion.&#8221;<\/em> Our Executive Director, <strong>Yosuke Nagai<\/strong>, was invited and participated in this event.\r\n<br>\r\n<br>\r\nDue to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting, originally scheduled to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, was conducted online. During the meeting, Mr. Nagai shared a case study on our organization&#8217;s approach to former Al-Shabaab combatants and detainees in Somalia.\r\n<br>\r\n<br>\r\nOver the course of three similar expert meetings, the mid-term strategy of the UN-Habitat for the period 2020\u20132023 will be reviewed.\r\n<br>\r\n<br>\r\nWe will continue to collaborate with relevant organizations to maximize our social impact.\r\n<br>\r\n<br>\r\n\r\n<\/div><!-- \/l-container__narrow -->\r\n<\/div><!-- \/section-1
